MUARA, Friday, 15th November 2024 - A closing ceremony was held by the Midshipmen of Officer Cadet School (OCS) Intake 23 at Naval Training Centre (NTC), Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). This ceremony marks the end of the Midshipmen journey in Special-To-Service (STS) Term which ran from 19th August 2024 to 15th November 2024.

The session took place at the Alap-Alap Room, Headquarters Royal Brunei Air Force Base in Rimba.

MUARA, TUESDAY, 12th November 2024 - A total of 17 Midshipmen from the Officer Cadet School (OCS) of Intake 23 completed navigation practical training at Naval Training Centre (NTC) of the Royal Brunei Navy (RBN). This training took place in the Full Mission Bridge Simulator (FMBS) and included familiarization with the RBN asset KDB Mustaed. This comprehensive training is designed to prepare Midshipmen for their future careers in the Naval Forces, ensuring they acquire the essential skills, experience, and knowledge required for effective maritime operations.

MULTI MISSION RANGE COMPLEX, TUESDAY, 22 October 2024 – In the first week of the Urban Operations Training Package (UOTP), the Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 attended lessons at the Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) focused on the Singapore Assault Rifle 21 (SAR21), which was designed and manufactured in Singapore. The OCdts received lessons on weapon handling, assembly and disassembly within a time limit, and Immediate Action (IA) drills. These lessons were essential for the OCdts to qualify for their SAR21 qualification shoot at the Multi Mission Range Complex (MMRC) in Pasir Laba Camp, Singapore. The objective of these lessons and the qualification shoot was to ensure that the OCdts were properly trained in order to operate a different weapon system, thereby enhancing their confidence in weapon handling, shooting skills, and understanding of the rifle's mechanics. The lessons and qualification shoot were conducted and assisted by the instructors and OCdts from Delta Wing of SAFTI MI.

SINGAPORE, Thursday, 17 October 2024 – Exercise Coyote II and III united Officer Cadets (OCdts) from the Officer Cadet School, Defence Academy Royal Brunei Armed Forces (OCS DA RBAF) and Singapore Armed Forces Training Institute Military Institute (SAFTI MI) for a four-day joint Urban Operations exercise. Held at Neo Tiew BUA and Sarimbun EBUA in Singapore. The exercise focused on honing essential combat skills required for operations in complex urban environments and the OCdts undertook various scenarios that tested their ability to maneuver through urban terrain, execute building clearance, and coordinate tactical operations within the confined and fast-paced nature of urban warfare.

TUTONG , Saturday, 21 September 2024 – Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 from the Officer Cadet School (OCS) successfully completed the Commandant Challenge, a rigorous 21-kilometer, two-day, one-night endurance test in the vicinity of Tutong Camp and Penanjong Camp. This challenge is designed to test the physical and mental limits of the OCdts and serves as an essential part of their training.

This Course To Training is to embark them on their career in the Naval Force which is an aspiration marked by dedication, discipline, and unwavering commitment to service. For the Midshipmen, the journey begins with a series of rigorous training programs designed to prepare them for the demanding and often unpredictable nature of naval operation. The objective of this Course To Training is to develop their knowledge and skills where it plays a key part of their maritime training, aimed at equipping them with crucial life-saving skills for maritime emergencies.

RIMBA, Isnin, 9 September 2024 – 9 Air Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) from Intake 23 participated in a series of educational wing visits as part of their Introductory Special to Service (STS) program. This program included visits to all wings along with their respective squadrons (SQNs). The aim of these visits was to introduce the Air Force OCdts to the organisational framework and to provide them with an understanding of the roles and responsibilities of each squadron and its personnel. Furthermore, the Air Force OCdts gained a thorough insight into the capabilities and assets of each Wing within the Royal Brunei Air Force (RBAirF).

PENANJONG, Monday, 9 September 2024 – The Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) recently participated in a two-day training session conducted by the Second Squadron [Chemical, Biological, Radiological, and Explosives Defence] Engineer Regiment Royal Brunei Land Force (2 Sqn [CBRE Def] ER RBLF). The training aimed to equip the Land Force OCdts with essential knowledge and practical skills in dealing with hazardous substances and warfare agents. On the first day, the Land Force OCdts were introduced to the various types of Mission Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) gear and safety precautions required during CBRE operations. This theoretical session provided a foundation in understanding how to protect themselves in hazardous environments, crucial for their future roles in the military.

BUKIT BERUANG, Thursday, 5 September 2024 – The Land Force Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 recently completed a 4-day Tiger Trail Exercise at Bukit Beruang. Prior to the jungle exercises, the Land Force OCdts were given theoretical lessons on key concepts and strategies essential for jungle warfare. During the four-day exercise, they then put this knowledge into practice, applying what they had learned in hands-on drills. Over the first few days, they engaged in section battle drills across different sectors, simulating tactical maneuvers in various jungle environments. On the final day, the focus shifted to a platoon battle drill, where the Land Force OCdts had to operate within a larger formation, applying strategies, showcasing teamwork and coordination under pressure.

The delegation consist of a total of 62 students from UNISSA and 10 permanent staff led by Yang Mulia Dr Norasiah binti Haji Amai, Head of Alumni Affairs Office (HEA) as the head of delegation.

TANAH JAMBU, Friday, 2 August 2024 – The Officer Cadets (OCdts) of Intake 23 have just concluded their Ground Control Exercise at the FIBUA Village in Penanjong Garrison. This immersive, 7-days training event featured dynamic confrontation scenarios centered around engaging with the simulated civilians. Before diving into the hands-on exercise, the OCdts were prepped with in-depth theoretical lessons delivered by specialists from the Chemical Biological Radiological Explosive Defense Unit (CBRE) and the Combat Engineering Squadron (CES) of the Royal Brunei Land Force (RBLF). They also gained insights from the Judge Advocate General Office (JAG) on Operational Law, and the Military Police (MP). Apart from that, live demonstrations and practical training was also provided by the instructors from Officer Cadet School (OCS).
